Look what's growing in my garden!

A little background for you...for as long as I can remember, my mom and I have picked items to plant in our garden each year. It started off with just tomatoes (isn't that what everyone has in their garden?) She is the "green thumb" in our family so though I help in the picking of a variety of herbs/veggies, I don't really come in again until it's time to water the plants.

I feel like each year, our garden gets bigger and bigger. This year is no exception. We currently have 3 gardens growing TONS of goodies all around the house. It is very exciting to have our biggest variety yet: 2 or 3 types of tomatoes, carrots, zucchini, squash, snap peas, lettuce, basil, chives, oregano, hot peppers, sweet peppers, raspberries, strawberries, and more!

As I was doing my nightly watering, I got so excited at what was emerging from the ground, I had to share it with all of you in this short post!

Peas!
We have actually already picked some of these and put them with cauliflower and steamed away!

Roma tomatoes! That one in the middle will be done in no time!

Again, we have already started picking some off and enjoying these! They've been small but these look much bigger!

And finally, the most exciting one tonight...

When trying to look at these, I accidentally pulled this one off. Don't worry though...there are about 4 or 5 more just like it...

This zucchini TOWERS over our homemade Black Cherry soda!

This thing is MONSTROUS!! As you can see behind it, I have countless recipes and cookbooks open trying to make something special for the holiday!

Yes, that's right...It is longer than my 2 year old baby girl, Juliet. (Isn't she cute?? She's so tiny!)

Our nightly visitor on our stone path!

I will definitely keep you updated on how they turn out! I will be writing a longer post tomorrow; I just HAD to share these pictures ASAP!

Do you grow your own garden?? What is your favorite thing to grow??

I hope you all enjoy the weekend and make sure you live your life to the fullest everyday...and on your own two feet...

Until the next step bloggers...

  1. I'm so jealous of your fantastic selection! I definitely have a brown thumb, but that's not going to stop me from trying to grow another garden when we get back to Maryland next year!
